Resources are the ingredients you need to build up your empire.

IncomeEdit

Most resources are gained as income from your Cities. Cities have an inherent amount of Gold Text Gold and Production Text Production they generate, and they will project Domain, allowing you to harvest resources from the Treasure Sites around your cities. Only explored, unoccupied treasure sites inside your domain will generate resources.

DomainEdit

Domain represents the control your cities have over the lands around them, and will grow along with the City, allowing that city to harvest the resources from more treasure sites. Aside from growing by size, the domain radius will also grow from certain buildings.

HappinessEdit

Happiness Text Happiness will indirectly influence any resource gains from cities. If a city's Happiness Text Happiness grows over 200, there will be a bonus to all resource income, and should it fall under -200, there will be a penalty. The Happiness Text Happiness levels have the following effects:

Happiness Text Empire Happiness is the base value, after which any other values are added to become the eventual city Happiness Text Happiness. The following Buildings will increase city happiness:

  • +100 Happiness Text Public Baths
  • +100 Happiness Text Hospital
  • +100 Happiness Text Grand Palace

The following Treasure Sites generate Happiness Text Happiness:

  • + 30 Happiness Text Flowers of Solace
  • + 50 Happiness Text Ancient Ruins (Also produces: 10 Knowledge Text Knowledge)
  • +100 Happiness Text Spring of Life (Also produces: 150 Population Text)
  • +100 Happiness Text Inn
  • +200 Happiness Text Hearts
  • +150 Happiness Text Hall of the Forefathers (Also produces: 15Knowledge TextKnowledge and 150Dead Population dead population)

Also, Happiness Text Happiness is influenced by the terrain where the city is build on. Certain races either like, dislike, or hate terrain, which can massively affect Happiness Text Happiness. See the Terrain page for the race-specific modifiers.

Halfling cities will have 50 bonus Happiness Text.

GoldEdit

Gold Text Gold is a resource required to build Units and Buildings in your cities, and is used to pay the Upkeep cost for most units. A city will generate the following amount of Gold Text Gold depending on size:

Aside from inherent income from cities, Gold Text can be produced by having the following Treasure Sites in your domain:

  • +10 Gold Text Gold Mine
  • +10 Gold Text Lucky Cloverfield
  • +20 Gold Text Trading Post
  • +30 Gold Text Ziggurat
  • +15 Gold Text Lost City (Also produces: 15 Mana Text Mana and 100 Population Text Population)
  • + 5 Gold Text Master Shipyard (Also produces: 5 Mana Text Mana and 10 Production Text Production)
  • +10 Gold Text Sunken City (Also produces: 10 Mana Text Mana, 10 Knowledge Text Knowledge and 10 Production Text Production)
  • + 5 Gold Text Tomb (Also produces: 5 Mana Text Mana, 5 Knowledge Text Knowledge and 5 Production Text Production)
  • +10Gold Text Sphinx Temple (Also produces 10Mana Text Mana and 10Knowledge Text knowledge)

Certain Class Empire Upgrades can also increase Gold Text Gold income.

Tigrans cities generate 5 Gold Text more.

Producing Merchandise in a city will increase that city's income by 50%.

ManaEdit

Mana Text Mana is used to cast spells, build some units and buildings, and pay the upkeep of summoned units. It is primarily generated by city buildings and Treasure Sites. These city buildings are:

  • +10 Mana Text Shrine
  • +10 Mana Text Temple
  • +10 Mana Text Grand Temple
  • + 5 Mana Text Some class Structures

Also, the following Treasure Sites increase Mana Text Mana income:

  • +10 Mana Text Mana Node
  • +10 Mana Text Well of Souls
  • +20 Mana Text Crystal Tree
  • +30 Mana Text Forbidden Sanctum
  • +15 Mana Text Lost City (Also produces: 15 Gold Text Gold and 100 Population Text Population)
  • + 5 Mana Text Master Shipyard (Also produces: 5 Gold Text Gold and 10 Production Text Production)
  • + 5 Mana Text Corrupted Spring (Cast Corrupt the Source Corrupt the Source on a Spring of Life)
  • +10 Mana Text Sunken City (Also produces: 10 Gold Text Gold, 10 Knowledge Text Knowledge and 10 Production Text Production)
  • + 5 Mana Text Tomb (Also produces: 5 Gold Text Gold, 5 Knowledge Text Knowledge and 5 Production Text Production)
  • +10Mana Text Sphinx Temple (Also produces 10Gold Text Gold and 10Knowledge Text Knowledge)
  • +10Mana Text Castle of the Lich King (Also produces 20Production Text Production, 10Knowledge TextKnowledge and 200Dead Population Dead Population)

Certain Class and Specialization Empire Upgrades will also increase Mana Text Mana income.

Generating Mana in a city will increase the generated Mana Text by 50%

Draconian cities generate 3 Mana Text more.

Mana CapEdit

Unlike Gold Text Gold however, Mana Text Mana can not be accumulated in infinite amounts. There is a ManaCap Text Mana Cap, which is the maximum amount of Mana Text you can have at any given moment. Each player has a base ManaCap Text Mana Cap of 500, and it can be increased in one of the following ways:

  • Researching Casting Points Text Casting Point Empire Upgrades. These are located in the top-left corner of your research book, and there are seven of them, each next one costing more Knowledge Text Research than the previous one. Each of these increases your ManaCap Text Mana Cap by 100.
  • The following Buildings will increase ManaCap Text by 100:

Casting PointsEdit

Aside from Mana Text reserves, the amount of spell you can cast is also limited by your Casting Points Text Casting Points. For your leader, both the amount of remaining Casting Points Text Casting Points and the maximum are shown at your resource bar at the top of your screen. For your other heroes, the units window will shot these values.

Unlike other resources, your Casting Points Text Casting Points will always refill completely when your turn ends - both for your Leader and all of your Heroes. The maximum amount of Casting Points Text Casting Points for your leader can be raised in one of three ways:

  • Researching Casting Points Text Casting Point Empire Upgrades. These are located in the top-left corner of your research book, and there are seven of them, each next one costing more Knowledge Text Research than the previous one. Each one gives your +10 Casting Points Text Casting Points.
  • Including Hearts in your city's Domain. Each of these gives +10 Casting Points Text Casting Points.
  • Building Grand Palaces in your cities. Each of these gives +10 Casting Points Text Casting Points.

The Sorcerer start with the Channeler Channeler ability on the leader and heroes, which will provide 5 Casting Points Text.

KnowledgeEdit

Knowledge is required to Research new technologies. There is no current amount of Knowledge Text that you can spend; instead, all Knowledge Text income is directly used for the current Research. Knowledge Text Knowledge can be produced in cities with the following Buildings:

  • +10 Knowledge Text Laboratory
  • +10 Knowledge Text Observatory
  • +10 Knowledge Text Arcane Item Forge
  • + 5 Knowledge Text Some class Structures

Also, the following Treasure Sites increase Knowledge Text Knowledge income:

  • +10 Knowledge Text Shrines to certain entities,
  • +20 Knowledge Text Vault of Knowledge
  • +30 Knowledge Text Wizard Tower Ruins
  • +10 Knowledge Text Ancient Ruins (Also produces: 50 Happiness Text Happiness)
  • +10 Knowledge Text Sunken City (Also produces: 10 Gold Text Gold, 10 Mana Text Mana and 10 Production Text Production)
  • + 5 Knowledge Text Tomb (Also produces: 5 Gold Text Gold, 5 Mana Text Mana and 5 Production Text Production)
  • +10Knowledge Text Sphinx Temple (Also produces 10Gold Text Gold and 10Mana Text Mana)
  • +15Knowledge Text Hall of the Forefathers (Also produces 150Happiness Text Happiness and 150Dead Population Dead Population)
  • +10Knowledge Text Castle of the Lich King (Also produces 20Production Text Production, 10Mana TextMana and 200Dead Population Dead Population)

Certain Class Empire Upgrades will increase the amount of Knowledge Text Knowledge you gain.

Seek Knowledge will increase the amount of Knowledge Text produced by 50%

High Elf cities generate 3 Knowledge Text more.

ProductionEdit

Production Text Production is the amount of work a city can do in a day. Both Units and Buildings will need a certain amount of Production Text to complete, equal to the total amount of Gold Text and Mana Text that the units or building costs. Like Knowledge Text Knowledge, there is no storage of Production Text Production, and it is automatically devoted to the city's assigned production. The following Buildings will increase production:

  • +20 Production Text Builders' Hall
  • +10 Production Text Siege Workshop
  • +15 Production Text Masters' Guild

The following Treasure Sites increase Production Text Production income:

  • +10 Production Text Magma Forge
  • +20 Production Text Flowrock Quarry
  • +30 Production Text Dungeon
  • + 5 Production Text Haste Berries
  • +10 Production Text Sunken City (Also produces: 10 Gold Text Gold, 10 Mana Text Mana and 10 Knowledge Text Knowledge)
  • + 5 Production Text Tomb (Also produces: 5 Gold Text Gold, 5 Mana Text Mana and 5 Knowledge Text Knowledge)
  • +20Production Text Castle of the Lich King (Also produces 10Mana Text Mana, 10 Knowledge Text Knowledge and 200Dead Population Dead Population)

Human cities generate 10 Production Text more.

PopulationEdit

The current Population Text Population of a city determines its size; the Population Text Population shown next to a city's other daily income is the amount by which the city's Population Text Population grows per day. This can be increased by the following Buildings:

  • +100 Population Text Store House
  • +100 Population Text Hospital

The following Treasure Sites increase Population Text Population income:

  • +30 Population Text Bountiful Melons
  • +100 Population Text Great Farm
  • +100 Population Text Lost City (Also produces: 15 Gold Text and 15 Mana Text)
  • +150 Population Text Spring of Life (Also produces: 100 Happiness Text)

Goblin cities will generate 10% bonus Population Text. High Elf cities will generate 10% less Population Text.

The Expander specialization increases the Population Text gained by Great Farms and Springs of Life.

Dead PopulationEdit

Ghouled Cities have no normal Population Text Population, but Dead Population Dead Population instead. Dead Population Dead Population has no base growth, but can be generated by the following buildings:

  • +200 Dead Population Harvesters Guild
  • +50 Dead Population Embalmers Guild
  • +50 Dead Population Cathedral of Bones

The following Treasure Sites increase Dead Population Dead Population income:

  • +100 Dead Population Corrupted Farm (Cast Corrupt the Source Corrupt the Source on a Great Farm)
  • +150 Dead Population Corrupted Spring (Cast Corrupt the Source Corrupt the Source on a Spring of Life)
  • +100 Dead Population Well of Souls
  • +150 Dead Population Hall of the Forefathers (Also produces 15Knowledge Text Knowledge and 150Happiness Text Happiness)
  • +200 Dead Population Castle of the Lich King (Also produces 20Production Text Production, 10Mana Text Mana and 10Knowledge Text Knowledge)

Goblin cities will generate 10% bonus Dead Population. High Elf cities will generate 10% less Dead Population.
